Although East Timorese endured a long and costly struggle for independence from Indonesia, they are overwhelmingly optimistic about the state of their country now. Lack of leadership or weak leadership has replaced political conflict and instability as the top concern of East Timorese, concluded a study conducted by Charney Research.
